In Gugah Nurani Indonesia's continuous efforts to ensure the right to education can be accessed by all children, together with PT. Cikarang Listrindo, Tbk through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, witnessed by Assistant I of the Regional Secretary and Head of the Bekasi Regency Social Service, officially marked the start of the Sustainable Scholarship program for Orphans because of COVID-19 (Yapico).
This Scholarship Program is small support for a large program owned by the Bekasi Regency Social Service for the community. "Scholarship support is given to 14 children from elementary, middle, and high school levels until the children graduate," said Mr. Hanif as HRD Manager of PT Cikarang Listrindo. This support represents the company's commitment to education and the future
Apart from ensuring that children have access to basic education for up to 12 years, this scholarship program is also an effort to protect children from the possibility of children becoming child laborers and from child marriage.
"Children should not be discouraged and stop dreaming even though they have lost their parents to COVID-19, there are many people who will help us if we are willing to try," said Mr. Yana Suyatna, Assistant I of the Bekasi Regency Secretary in the midst of his speech while sharing his stories as a motivation for the children who present.
As an implementing partner of PT. Cikarang Listrindo in addition to being responsible for the distribution of scholarships to be given to children every 3 months, Gugah Nurani Indonesia is also responsible for supervising children's development which will be monitored through regular communication either by telephone or direct home visits. Child empowerment programs are also given regularly as an effort by Gugah Nurani Indonesia to provide protection to children.
