Jakarta (July 31, 2024) – The charity virtual race titled *Run, Ride, and Rise 2024* was successfully held during the period of June to July 2024. Through this charitable sports event, Gugah Nurani Indonesia (GNI) Foundation collaborated with Cause ID to raise funds for the Good Water Project, which aims to provide access to clean water and sanitation facilities in remote areas of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

With a registration and participation format that could be done entirely online through the Cause website and app, the event received support in the form of participation and donations from over 800 participants, including both Indonesian Nationals (WNI) and Foreign Nationals (WNA). The total donations collected from registrations and voluntary contributions amounted to IDR 60,935,000.

Anugerah Putra, Fundraising Manager at Gugah Nurani Indonesia, explained that the donations collected from this event will be used for the implementation of the Good Water Project in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Gugah Nurani Indonesia operates two Community Development Projects (CDPs) in East Nusa Tenggara, located in West Manggarai and East Manggarai (Borong). These two GNI-assisted regions face significant challenges in accessing clean water due to their mountainous terrain and low rainfall, which severely impacts the availability of clean water.

As a result, children in these regions often have to walk for more than two hours to fetch water and bring it home to meet their daily needs. With these donations, GNI will work alongside government officials and community stakeholders to build water access and installation facilities, making clean water more accessible to the local communities.

In addition to raising funds for children and residents in remote areas of Flores, the event also successfully motivated around 85% of all participants to run and cycle to show their support for this clean water campaign. Of course, many exciting prizes were prepared for the finishers who completed the 7K Run or 23K Ride categories in this event.
