The Community Development Facilitator will be responsible for executing GNI's children and community development program strategies in Medan CDP, with the current scope centered on the health/WASH sector, and for ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of program implementation for the community as well as managing child sponsorship activities to ensure every sponsored child is properly identified, well-documented, and receiving services that address their actual needs. As Medan CDP considers expanding into the education sector in its next cycle, this Facilitator will also help lay the groundwork — through needs assessments, stakeholder engagement, and program design input — for that future expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct community development program needs assessments and surveys (online surveys, community workshops, etc.) to gain a comprehensive understanding of the community's development status, particularly in the health/WASH sector (nutrition, maternal and child health services, hygiene, and access to clean water and sanitation).
- Coordinate and review health/WASH program plans and strategy implementation to ensure alignment with Gugah Nurani Indonesia's goals.
- Formulate recommendations and best practices based on program evaluations to maximize impact and increase the efficiency of health/WASH programs.
- Prepare regular CDP program activity reports to monitor performance and achievement of targets.
- Build and maintain good relationships with partners and internal/external stakeholders (local government, health facilities, posyandu, other NGOs, etc.) to support the overall sustainability of the program.
- Support preliminary assessment and planning work for a possible future education sector in Medan CDP, including gathering community input on education needs, to help inform program design ahead of the next program cycle.
- Manage child sponsorship activities and drive the achievement of 100% child sponsorship service coverage, recognizing its critical role in the organization's long-term sustainability.
- Map and identify child cases within the community to build a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges faced by sponsored children.
- Conduct detailed analysis of identified child cases, categorizing them by needs and level of urgency to inform targeted interventions and prioritize follow-up actions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree (S1) in a relevant field; preferably Public Health, Education, Development Studies, Developmental Psychology, Child Studies, Family Studies, Community Development, or Social Welfare.
- Preferably at least 1 year of relevant working experience, including experience in an NGO.
- Good understanding of child protection and child rights.
- Enthusiasm toward children's development and the ability to design and run child-focused programs.
- Good understanding of Project Cycle Management.
- Good project reporting skills.
- Able to communicate and interact effectively with children and the community.
- Interest in or exposure to education programming is a plus, given the possible future expansion of Medan CDP into the education sector.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
