Improving Child Life Expectancy through Nutrient-Rich Food Distribution
GNI improved the health status of children and people in poverty in 17 CDP area by providing basic medical services, nutrient-rich food, and health education. In particular, GNI provided health education on public sanitation, and conducted mother-child health programs to protect infants and children under 5 and pregnant women through the provision of micro-nutrients.

The nutrition project directly runs a food distribution center enabling which ensures continuity of care and enables us to monitor the children’s progress on a regular basis.

The beneficiaries of the project are identified in cooperation with the district health center. The food provided is the equivalent of what an ordinary household requires and is composed of food that can be easily obtained in the region, such as beans, corn, sugar, salt, cooking oil, anchovies.

Gugah Nurani Indonesia also provides mothers with instructions cooking methods and meal size that maximize the impact of the program. Our message is that food is not only a meal, but a ‘medicine’ that children need for a healthy and safe future.
